Preparing Students to Teach and Lead in a Diverse, Globally Connected World

It has never been more important for educators and other professionals engaged in the field of education to be globally conscious and equipped to instill global competency in their own students. Through engagement with international students, institutional partnerships, on-campus international programming, study abroad opportunities for both graduate and undergraduate students, and research with visiting scholars, we prepare globally conscious citizens, teachers, administrators, researchers, and policymakers who are ready to confront the global challenges and embrace the worldwide possibilities of our time.

Here is a bio for Ms. Rozy Parlette:

Rozy Parlette is the Director of the Center for Instruction and Research Technology (CIRT) at the University of North Florida (UNF). She leads a team that supports faculty in instructional design, online learning support, research technology, and creative services. CIRT serves as a faculty resource center, providing expertise in course design, digital pedagogy, instructional technology, and media production to enhance teaching and learning at UNF.

With over a decade of experience in instructional design and faculty development, Rozy has held multiple leadership roles at UNF, including Instructional Designer, Assistant Director of Online Course Development, and Associate Director of Instructional Design, before stepping into her current role as Director. She has played a key role in advancing online learning initiatives, faculty training programs, and strategic instructional design projects, fostering collaboration between instructional designers and faculty to implement innovative teaching strategies.

Before transitioning into higher education, Rozy worked in K-12 education and educational leadership, serving as an Education Manager at Success Academy Charter Schools in New York City and as a Duval County Public Schools teacher.

A proud alumna of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Rozy earned her Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Human Resource Education with a concentration in e-learning in 2015. The program provided her with a strong foundation in instructional design principles, online learning strategies, and emerging technologies, preparing her for her role as an Instructional Designer at UNF shortly after graduation.

She is pursuing a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership at UNF. Her dissertation examines how motherhood shapes leadership identity and perceptions of leadership capabilities among women administrators in higher education, focusing on institutional and societal expectations that influence their experiences.
