Preparing Students to Teach and Lead in a Diverse, Globally Connected World

It has never been more important for educators and other professionals engaged in the field of education to be globally conscious and equipped to instill global competency in their own students. Through engagement with international students, institutional partnerships, on-campus international programming, study abroad opportunities for both graduate and undergraduate students, and research with visiting scholars, we prepare globally conscious citizens, teachers, administrators, researchers, and policymakers who are ready to confront the global challenges and embrace the worldwide possibilities of our time.

Speaker Information: Santiago Esteinou and Cesar Fierro

EJP's Reentry Resource Program looks forward to hosting a discussion with Santiago Esteinou and Cesar Fierro about the new documentary The Freedom of Fierro.

César Fierro has just become a free man and he needs to rebuild his life after being wrongly sentenced to death in Texas. He spent 40 years in prison before being released and deported to Mexico during the pandemic.  Despite the challenges, César remains determined to find true freedom. The Freedom of Fierro is the second part of the documentary The Years of Fierro, directed by Santiago Esteinou in 2014.

You may remember that we welcomed Santiago and Cesar back in 2022 to discuss the first documentary about Cesar's case, The Years of Fierro. Here's a link to that discussion: https://vimeo.com/764541948?fl=pl&fe=sh

This event will take place on Wednesday, October 22nd, 12:00-1:00 pm CST.

After you submit the RSVP, you will receive a link to view the documentary. We ask that all attendees view the documentary prior to attending the discussion.
